Jetlag is something that people who travel a lot constantly have to deal with – if you are constantly having to deal with jetlag, there are quite a few things that you can do to ensure that not only do you not have to deal with jetlag as bad, but you feel refreshed.  One thing you need to make sure that you are doing is staying hydrated.  This is a key point, as most people do not even think about drinking water on the plane.

Next, make sure that you change your clothes.  If it will be morning when you arrive in your destination, you want to consider changing your clothes into something very comfortable and loungy so that way, you can feel comfortable.

You might also want to wash your face as well as a mask and a pillow for comfort, as these are things that will help you deal with the jetlag!

economy class cabinOkay, so I have flown on a heck of a lot of flights recently and I can tell you for sure that there are a ton of different seats on the plane – but which is the best?  Well, there are many different seats available that could be considered ‘the best’ but how do you get them?  Well, that is what we are going to talk about now.

One thing that you can do is actually check in as early as the airline allows, which is about 24 hours before the flight.  You can even research the plane itself on many different sites so that way you can choose the very best seat before you set on the plane itself.

You can also ask the staff and be polite.  That is one of the best ways to ensure that you get the best seat on the plane.

The picture you see here, for instance, is of a place in Thailand called Ko Tao. Its landscapes are utterly breathtaking, and they seem to roll on forever. The wildlife is amazing, as is the marine life. Better still? This is a place where you can rough it, so you can enjoy a totally authentic experience — while still getting the most of some special resort comforts!

A trip to Nam Ha, Laos, can fulfill these jungle desires as well. You can stay right with the locals, who will also guide you on tours of their amazing homeland, with its jungles and waterfalls.

Travel Tips: Airline Fees!

airplane-fall-apartWhen you think about it – flying is expensive.  Not only do you have to pay for the tickets, but you have to think about all of the airline fees.  That is what we are going to talk about in this particular blog – what airline fees are out there and what you will have to look for.

One of the first things that you need to think about whenever you are going to fly is how much you are going to pack.  Flying on really any airline but Southwest is going to cost you money when you check the bag.  So that is one fee that you want to consider.

Next, you want to make sure that if you are traveling with pets – what fees are associated with that?  That is definitely something that you want to research.

Ways to Ease Holiday Frustration

travel 8If you are choosing to fly this holiday season, then we have some tips, tricks, and pieces of advice that may help you not to get so frustrated.

For one thing, be aware that there will probably be a longer than usual wait at security — and not just thanks to those ridiculous rules concerning gels and liquids. Don’t get me started on those.

If you have any frequent flier miles or options, make sure you know what they are and what they can do for you.

Have plenty of diversions. Bring books, an iPod, food, et cetera — and if you’re traveling with kids, make sure they have things to keep them distracted.

You need to have a phone number for everything: the airline, the hotel, friends, family, car rental agencies, and so on.

Keep up on your flight status, always.

Delta’s merged with Northwest Finally!

airplanestock11

Finally, I have been waiting for Delta and Northwest to merge together.  Recently, I went on a business trip to New Jersey and guess what I booked?  Northwest – well, my surprise that Northwest is now part of Delta was pleasant.  The airplanes are actually really awesome and while this might have happened last month, I think that if you had no idea it was happening, you should!

Northwest is one of those airlines that I actually really like and before I started hardcore traveling, I did not realize the difference between the airlines … now I do though.  I realize that the airlines are certainly different and the airplanes themselves are different depending on the airline.

The merge right now is going really smooth and by the end of the year – Northwest should definitely be all merged into Delta!

Jammin’ in Jamaica During the Winter

Posted: October 28th, 2009 | Author: Heather | Filed under: Travel | Tags: , , | No Comments »

jamaicaWhat could be better than a winter holiday in Jamaica mon? When you need to get away from the cold weather, it is definitely the place to go — and Jamaica’s peak season actually goes from December on to the early part of April. Hurricane season is over, the skies are sunny, and the beaches are sure to be warm as a dream.

Plus there are some great activities taking place in Jamaica during the winter, such as the Reggae Marathon, which follows seven miles of beach — and along each mile, you will be spurred on by live bands playing reggae music.

Bobsled Jamaica is a big draw as well — and yes, a lot of tourists are interested in it due to Cool Runnings. Thanks, John Candy!
