3 Different Types of Vacations

There are lots of different vacations that you can choose from, the world is a huge place with almost unlimited destinations. However there are basically three different ways that you can plan your trip. The one that you choose is going to depend in large part on how you are most comfortable with travelling.
The most common type of vacation is one in which you make all of the arrangements yourself. This means that you book the fight and the hotels separately and you make all of the other arrangements for the trip. This approach gives you the greatest amount of flexibility since it allows you as much or as little planning as you are comfortable with. If you just want to book a flight and then find a place to stay when you get there that is an option for example. This approach will also require the most effort on your part since you will have to do a fair amount of research on your destination.
The other common type of vacation are the package deals. These are becoming increasingly popular as people prefer to have somebody else work out the arrangements. These are travel packages that are put together by tour operators and almost always include 
both the flight and the hotel. They may or may not include other things like car rental, food or even guided tours of your destination. In most cases you will find that you can get a better price on your trip if you travel this way but that is not always true. Having somebody else do the planning will greatly simplify your trip but you will lose a lot of flexibility. For destinations like Cancun, NYC or Las Vegas, these deals can be extremely good!
A third vacation option that a lot of people are starting to take advantage of is the last minute deal trips. These are actually just the package deals that the tour operators put together, usually there are places on them that don’t get sold. Since the tour operator will normally have to pay for the space on the flight and at the hotel whether or not anybody uses it they will offer great deals at the last minute to fill the spot. This is almost always the cheapest way to travel but it does require you to be very flexible, you won’t be able to decide ahead of time where you are going.
While using the last minute packages is certainly not for everybody if you are comfortable with taking a trip without a lot of last minute planning this can be a great way to travel. You will likely take trips to places that you never thought of going and will save a lot of money. There are lots of people who don’t even plan their trips, they just look at which last minute deals are available and pick one and then off they go.
