airplanestock11

Finally, I have been waiting for Delta and Northwest to merge together.  Recently, I went on a business trip to New Jersey and guess what I booked?  Northwest – well, my surprise that Northwest is now part of Delta was pleasant.  The airplanes are actually really awesome and while this might have happened last month, I think that if you had no idea it was happening, you should!

Northwest is one of those airlines that I actually really like and before I started hardcore traveling, I did not realize the difference between the airlines … now I do though.  I realize that the airlines are certainly different and the airplanes themselves are different depending on the airline.

The merge right now is going really smooth and by the end of the year – Northwest should definitely be all merged into Delta!

Jammin’ in Jamaica During the Winter

jamaicaWhat could be better than a winter holiday in Jamaica mon? When you need to get away from the cold weather, it is definitely the place to go — and Jamaica’s peak season actually goes from December on to the early part of April. Hurricane season is over, the skies are sunny, and the beaches are sure to be warm as a dream.

Plus there are some great activities taking place in Jamaica during the winter, such as the Reggae Marathon, which follows seven miles of beach — and along each mile, you will be spurred on by live bands playing reggae music.

Bobsled Jamaica is a big draw as well — and yes, a lot of tourists are interested in it due to Cool Runnings. Thanks, John Candy!

eiffel-tower-day

What is the very first thing that you think about whenever you are traveling to Paris?  For me – it is all about the Eiffel Tower and for most people, it is the same.  The Eiffel Tower is actually one of those pieces of history that many people have seen but have not been educated about.  That is what we are here for!  I have a little background info on the Eiffel Tower and I am totally willing to share!

Firstly, the Eiffel Tower was actually designed by A.G Eiffel and it is actually situated right near the bank of river Sienna.  This particular history tower is something that has been in Paris for quite a while and it actually has a lot of secrets in the design of it.

The engineer that made this masterpiece wanted it to be really – really high, so instead of metal, he actually used steel for this structure so it would be sound.

GranadaNow that we have talked about New England and Las Vegas, let’s take a trip over to Granada – this is a beautiful Spain city that is simply, breathtaking in every way possible.  Granada’s Alhambra is by far one of the greatest accomplishments of Islamic art and architecture I have ever seen.  This monument is actually the second biggest attraction, besides the city itself.

Granada is not only beautiful, but it is a city where you go when you truly want to see the world and experience Spain for everything that it is.  Spain is something that is so beautiful and interesting, it is truly impossible for you not to fall in love with it instantly.

Personally, Granada is my favorite city in Spain and it is the city that I will continue to visit every … single year – it is beautiful!

3 Must-See but Little Known Places in Italy

Posted: September 3rd, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Italy | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

alto adigeRome, Venice, Florence, Sicily — these are all well known places in Italy, and certainly, they are worth the visit. However, those well known cities are not the only must-see places in the country, not by any means.

One little known location is Trentino, where Trento is the principal town. There are many works of art located there, compiled between the tenth century and the eighteenth century by the princes ruling the area. Thus, there are a number of museums in the town where the art is on display.

Alto Adige is another must see area; Bolzano is its principal town. It is a rather austere town, host of one of the most stunningly panoramic drives you can find in Italy.

Veneto makes up the Lower Po Valley, which is itself located on Lake Garda’s eastern bank as well as the eastern region of the Dolomites. Nearby is the most well know ski resort in Italy.

Unveiling the Mysteries of Dublin, Ireland

Posted: August 13th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Ireland | Tags: , | No Comments »

dublinAs of three years ago, Dublin, Ireland, had a population of over five hundred thousand people. That pretty well makes it the largest city in all of Ireland. It is the country’s capital too. Located right at the mouth of the lovely River Laffey, Dublin is not only a highly contemporary center, but it is also a richly historical site and cultural center.

Two years ago, and with good reason, it was voted Europe’s friendliest city. The tourist industry there thrives primarily because the people there are so warm, welcoming, and friendly — not to mention fun!

For instance, estimates suggest that more than half of the people living in Dublin are 25 years old or younger. There are thus plenty of night clubs and pubs to be found, especially around Temple Bar, Wexford Street, Harcourt Street, Leeson Street, and Camden Street.

As for the arts, Dublin has produced many of the greats, from musicians to writers to poets and beyond. Most of us are aware of U2′s origins there, but add to that list Bram Stoker, James Joyce, W. B. Yeats, and George Bernard Shaw, among many more.

From Dublin Castle to the Abbey to the National Gallery, Dublin is also home to some of the most historically rich sites in all the world.
