Rome, Venice, Florence, Sicily — these are all well known places in Italy, and certainly, they are worth the visit. However, those well known cities are not the only must-see places in the country, not by any means.
One little known location is Trentino, where Trento is the principal town. There are many works of art located there, compiled between the tenth century and the eighteenth century by the princes ruling the area. Thus, there are a number of museums in the town where the art is on display.
Alto Adige is another must see area; Bolzano is its principal town. It is a rather austere town, host of one of the most stunningly panoramic drives you can find in Italy.
Veneto makes up the Lower Po Valley, which is itself located on Lake Garda’s eastern bank as well as the eastern region of the Dolomites. Nearby is the most well know ski resort in Italy.
